Come on, how many innovative features have you seen in recently released games? The NDA is there to hide the incompetence and nothing else. It's a way to prolong the hype and "make believe" in the promises. A delay of the confrontation with the reality.
See WoW's case. They did without NDA and noone was able to recognize the good design if not after it was released.
There is nothing to hide when you can stand out proudly. NDA is for the weak and cowards.
