Re: SOE rises the bar
All this crammed into 6 character slots "per account".... Geeze, cut us some slack without moneygrubbing every six months. They added the "froglike race" and we got two more slots from a paltry four. How many do you get with EQ1, WoW or any other game, hmm? I think the game has degenerated down into an elborate money making scheme. 3 bucks here, 8 bucks there, 2 bucks there, oh and by the way we're raising the fees! Enjoy!
Meh. It's a nice game, with a ugly pig of an engine, and I played it off and on since launch (I played EQ since the PoP days), but all the games they play with fees reminds me of the old ala'carte cable-TV pricing scandals. At least Neverwinter 2 looks good, I can run my own server, use my own creativity to play how I want, and to play in worlds I can design and share with others.
What's the point with the MMO's any more? I think people just play them to be miserable, and find other things to complain about in thier lives. All while some company gleefully takes a monthy stipend from your bank account and trickles just enough "content" to fishhook you along. Is this supposed to be fun?
Hmm. Does the king have clothes?
