Re: EQ2's evolution for next year?

No MMO is bearable without friends in my opinion, and about the frequent changes, lots enjoy changes, casue they keep the experience (any experience) fresh.
I know lots hate it, but that's the world.

About HRose issue with quests not leading to new zones, I happen to agree here, there should be a little more.
But the problem is that "zones" in EQ2 are larger and apparently more level based than other games. Most of them, especially the old world ones, are tiered by10 levels range. So, if you land in Antonica and you are level 10, you can't expect lots of quest leading you to another zone (maybe a dungeon or 2, tho) until you are 18 or so.

I understand how disappointing that could get, and yes it could be an original design issue. They want you to "really" explore a zone before moving to the next one.
As much as I understand the point here, it doesn't bother me cause I think EQ2 ones are probably the best zones in any mmorpg (save just for some of the original EQ1 ones). They have plenty of secrets, plenty of Points of Interests and actually sometimes I hate to have to change zones cause I feel there's more to see and I am missing it.

Once again, SOE failed business-wise, as 21st century MMO players want xp-efficient zones, not complex and hard to travel and explore ones. Still, I think exploration has never been done so good as in EQ2 so far.
