If I may, I'd recommend you to look though a lot of the mods, as they are what make the game shine imo. If it wasn't for the mods I probably would never have bought X2, let alone X3. There are so many awesome mods that add so much to the game! I haven't played the game in a few months, so I don't know if they fixed the save corruption (the reason I haven't played in a while)....if they haven't be sure to make many backups.
