I'm in an odd sort of position myself, because I'm still playing WoW pretty much only because of raiding. The other level 60 content... the rep grinds and all that bullshit... don't hold much of an interest for me. But being in a small and relatively laid back guild of adults, with guaranteed gameplay rather than screwing around waiting for a PUG... that's quite nice. We're far from top-tier, but I consider that a plus; there's none of the competitive drive because of it. And boss fights, especially in BWL and AQ and Naxx, are quite fun.
What this announcement has changed is my willingness to put up with the obvious blatant timesinks in certain raids. The trash in the latter half of AQ that takes as long as long to clear as the entire first half of the instance, respawns if you leave, and needs to be cleared before the bosses. There's no excuse for this, especially with the 'rewards' being blatantly obsolete in a few months, even if the boss fights are, in fact, quite fun.
We haven't really delved into Naxx yet, but even I as a non-officer can feel the drive to plug away at the timesinks waning rapidly. It doesn't take a genius to read the shifting tone in guild chat, after all.
