Ab, EVERYONE had anticipated this, based mostly on Blizzard's own comments. They've said since confirming the rumour that level 65 green gear would outclass anything players could get today.

I remember it well because it was then I pretty much stopped raiding, for obvious reasons :) Shortly thereafter, having nothing else to do UNTIL the expansion, I quit.
