I'm not sure I can agree on your third suggestion. A situation could be imagined where the player might want to cast a different spell if their original spell fizzles. For example, I might cast a healing spell which takes 5 seconds to cast, but it fizzles. Now my tank is very low health because of my failed spell and I want to cast one which will take less time (and perhaps heal for less) but will keep him alive. Under the third point I will now have to cancel the spell because of the automatic recast and then cast the new spell. Because of this, I suggest not including point number 3. I hope this makes sense, my writing has been called atrocious by many.
