I was an eve player for 6 months. I loved everything about it except the fact that none of my friends played so i was flying around the galaxy solo which is kinda lonely and boring after a while. One of the things i liked about Eve was the finality of it. If you spent all your credits on a new ship and it gets blown up 20 mins out of dock....too bad. I just hope they carry that over with WoD online. Consequences your for actions is what makes Eve such a good game.
1 thing I have noticed with companies that produce more than 1 mmorpg , is that when positive design that people like is released for 1 game, it spreads to the others, if setting and game design allows. Hell it even happens between companies. Anarchy Online was the first MMORPG to have instances, Now every Lowest Common Denominator MMORPG out there has instances. Not that I advocate instances. I hate them to be honest, but that's off topic. I guess what i'm saying is if the design team for WoD comes up with some new feature that could be used in Eve and be an improvement on the game, you can bet you butt it'll be added, and since WoD has a completely different set of design challenges, the Devs will be designing it with a completely different perspective than with Eve.
