of course, everybody has his favorites (the few polls I've found asking about your favorite malazan book ended with MT on top...but not for me; erikson started abusing his sense of humor...the "witty" characters and dialogue is now almost a prime element of the story telling and tbh it felt contrived at times - needless to say that this trend continues with BH. Duiker's yarn and Coltain's march through the desert is one of my favorite sub-plots of the series - simply stunning.
