I whole heartedly agree with you here. I have run characters on PvE and, while fun in a guild doing quest setting with friends and siblings, the , for lack of a better term, joy, of seeing the Tauren in the trees point to the dead carcass that was going to eat me from behind, waving to me and then running off brings about those warm fuzzy feelings one can get from reading a good novel or watching a well-developed war-time drama. The Tauren could have killed me, maybe even should of (as I WAS in their territory) but instead chose compasion.
Where else can you have first-contacts like that?...Surely not with the npcs and, with faction members, it is expected.
To the Tauren druid who saved my level 11 gnome warlocks rear from the BIG BAD pink Raptor on Deathwing, hats off to you!!! (Granted the Raptor was only level 15 and MAY not have killed me, your help was very welcome)
