Exactly, Blizzard, in my mind, is more about evolution then revolution. I'm not saying that there is no innovation in Blizzard products, just that rarely do they ever go into the groundbreaking area.
And more power to them, that is exactly their strength. Whilst not a fan of many Blizzard games, I know, that when I pick up a box of pixelated fun, that it will work, and be enjoyable.
Their talent lies in picking out ideas from other sources and -making- them work. In some cases they even pick out concepts that were horrendous in whatever game they originated in, yet Blizzard implements them in style.
Not trying to come across as a Blizzard fanboi here, that’s just my impression of them, games that work
