Not in my lifetime.

While I agree with most of your ideas I can say that, at least for many years, that will not happen. Why? I will use your example of "forty warriors are going to fight a dragon".

After many long fought battles, the Warriors of Hope (ok, that is a LAME name) have finaly made it to the great dragon, Onyxia. As the rally and charge towards the dragon, it turns its head, and with a smile, sends out a wall of flaming death. Out of 40 of the great fighters, only 10 even made it within range of the Dragon, and they were eaten.

Ouch, that sounds like fun. I spend 3 damn hours just to die in under 30 seconds. Lets mix it up, and throw some Hunters and Mages.

After many long fought battles, the Less Hopeful Warriors have finaly made it to the great dragon, Onyxia. As they enter, five of there Hunters shoot a volley of arrows at the dragon. It sends out a mighty roar and charges the group. The Warriors take there defensive stances, and let out Taunts that should take the dragons attention off of them. But Onyxia, still enraged over the hunters, pays no heed to there shouts, and runs them clean over, killing most. She then proceeds to feast on the now unprotected Hunters, enjoying their insides untill she is hit square in the back by a large chunk of ice. She lets out a cry, and the Mages, who now have no protection because the Warriors were trampled, are swarmed by her children.

Ok, don't you see why this is bad? If there is no HUD the healers must go from person to person, just to check to see there wounds, while others are getting chewed on. If the Dragon dosen't stop because of the Warriors taunts and go after him, then classes that are weaker (armor-wise) are dead as soon as they attack. And if the dragon knows to use its best skills right at the start, then why should I play just to die in under a minute? What would stop it from using that skill over and over, if it knows that by doing that, then it can kill large numbers of people over and over with ease?

It would take hundreds of people to take it down, and while I agree that that would be fun, the lag would be beyond terrible. Can your connection take 400 people cramming into one room and all attacking? I know mine can't. You would need a T1 line, and I say that the cons outway the pros in that idea.
