The screenie of the Blood Elf at character creation is either fake, or Blizzard didn't feel like writing their own stuff. The racial description given for the Blood Elves there is ripped directly from a post (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.aspx?FN=wow-suggestions&T=368414&P=1) on the WoW Suggestion forums about adding Illidan's allies as a third faction. Scroll down a bit to where it describes the Blood Elves. The character creation screen took the description verbatim.

Imo, without the character creation screen to back it up, all the other Blood Elf pics could be nothing more than images of a new expansion area that has nothing to do with a player race, but simply has Blood Elf NPC's and questgivers (such as...Quel'thalas, perhaps?)
