World of Warcraft - Repository

NOTE: To access the files you need to be a registered user of this site. This to avoid direct links on Korean and Chinese BBS as it happened the last time. If you just need to access the files you can try to log-in using "qt3" as username and password. If the site still tells you that you do not have the permissions, try to clear the cache of your browser. Let me know if there are problems.

(This will be a permanent page I'll keep updating when needed, the permanent link can be found under the "Resources" section on the sidebar, under the Categories)

Here you (I) can find some useful stuff I may find around. Resources. For now the patches from retail to the last version.

Yesterday my client messed up for some reason and started to crash systematically as I reached a point in Alterac Mountains. The only way to get out of it was to reset my video option to pull down the horizon line, so that the client didn't try to load that particular file that went nut for an unknown reason (I hate mmorpgs without single file checks).

Well, I decided to reinstall everything to zero to see if the problem was hardcoded or it was really the client that screwed up. After the insanely long CD installation I applied the 1.1.1 patch and it went good. Then I found out that I didn't save the mini patch (1.1.1 to 1.1.2) and so the newest 40Mb patch I had couldn't be applied.

The client wanted to get a completely different patch from the one I used, bigger (55Mb). And I had to redownload everything from scratch. Now, here you'll find listed all the files you need from the install CDs till the most recent version.

Guides

- An on-going guide written by me to all the Alliance instanced dungeons and the related quests. As spoiler-free as possible.
- How to keep care of your client. Tools to check the files integrity and prevent crashes.
- Itemization Formulas - How items are created and balanced.

Maps

- A wonderful world map with all the flight paths. An interactive version can be found here.

UI

- Tiny_BGMod v3: A small mod I made integrated with CTMod. It autojoins battlegrounds as a spot is available in the case you aren't checking back every two minutes (the timeout before it kicks you out). Useful to not lose the queue if you have to go afk or alt+tab doing other things. Updated: 06 Jan 06

I might just be acting silly, but...

Are we sure that all the patches work? I can't get the 1.3.1 to 1.4.0 patch to work, I've put it in the wow folder and renamed it to wow-patch.mpq, is there anything else I should be doing? It managed to work for the 1.3.0 patch! I guess I'll try a reinstall if all else fails.

Let's see...

Well, have you LAUNCHED it?

After you place the wow-patch.mpq file in the game directory, you have to launch the BNUpdate.exe file that is supposed to be already there.

When you launch that program the patching process will actually start. If you do not do this nothing will happen.

Yes.

Yes, I have in fact launched it. When I launch either the patch or BNUpdate.exe, a message says "There is no patch file to apply." The patch file is sitting right next to BNUpdate.exe in my WoW folder.

WoW patch .mpq

If the files

BNUpdate.exe
wow-patch.mpq

are in the same directory, by launching the first file the patch WILL start. You can even rename a blank text file as wow-patch.mpq and the program will load you anyway telling it's invalid or corrupt (of course).

So you probably missplaced the wow-patch.mpq file or put it in a wrong location. It must go in the game root directory, where there's wow.exe and the .dll files.

Double check the *spelling* and the location. As I said you have to RENAME the file after you download it from this website to "wow-patch.mpq". I believe you are missing this step or doing it incorrectly.

wow-patch

once the file is in the folder you should rename it this exactly

wow-patch

dont not place a .mpq after the name, otherwise it will not run through the BNUpdate

Delete Old mpq

If you have the old mpq file still in there, delete/move it to another place. Just get it out of that directory, bnupdate doesnt like it.

Re: World of Warcraft - Repository

you know where i can find the europe version of the 1.7.0 to 1.7.1 file??? where can i download this for free?

eu patches?

guys... how can i change the .mpq patches from us to eu?

There is no conversion

I don't believe that the US patches are compatible. I have no access to the EU servers so I cannot save on this site those patches.

I can mirror only what I have access to.

THANK YOU!!

THis works beutiful, thank you!
Great site, bookmarked for future use.

1.3.1 -to- 1.4.0 Downloader

Looking for this ,I want only a Downloader ,not the patch ,
Patch is too big...:P

I search after the french patch 1.4.1 and 1.4.2

I've search after these patchs everywhere on the net but I didn't manage to find it.
This is the only site where I find patch 1.4.x but it's the US version so it doesn't work on my game.
Perhaps someone has a solution for me, or a site where I can find these patchs.
Thanks to all.

Permission

I want to download the patch for wow but when I click on it,
it says You do not have the permission to open this page or something like that.

Please Answer

p.s. I live in Serbia does it matter?

You have to log in

No, it doesn't matter :)

You just need to log in as it's clearly stated at the top of the page (see those two notes in bold?).

dont know

i dont know what to do...i cant find the little patches like 1.3.0 to 1.3.1 besides on this website and whenever i do what you say and do the BNupdate thing it says no patches are available to work on...do i need to open the file before putting it in the wow directory or what...i would use the stupid wow setup but my dang comp wont let me....please tell me what i need to do

Check this

You renamed the file before trying to start the update process as written in the instructions above?

WoW patch ed2k (eMule) links

First off, thanks for hosting these files! You're a lifesaver. It's horrible having to download the huge patches from Blizzard after a WoW install, and it seems like this is one of a very few places to get the in-between patches.

Secondly, I share all of the above files on eMule, so I have the hash links for them. I prefer using eMule because I can stop and resume downloads (necessary for my puny dial-up connection). All of the links have at least eMule AICH hashsets attached to them, and complete hashsets for the bigger files since the smaller patches aren't large enough to get a larger hash.

Anywho, the links:

WoW-1.2.3-enUS-patch.exe - Takes game client from 1.0.0 to 1.2.3

1.2.3-to-1.2.4.mpq (World of Warcraft enUS) - This is the first patch my install CD needs (my install disks start off at version 1.2.3)

Re: World of Warcraft - Repository

It isn't working, the page doesan't open

Re: World of Warcraft - Repository

What do I do with the Mpq files? To get them to update WoW?

Re: World of Warcraft - Repository

Instead of updating this post everytime a new patch comes out, I've decided to maintain a simple text page with the ED2K patch links. Anyone who's interested should go to http://wowpatches.notlong.com.

Re: World of Warcraft - Repository

hello!!! I'need WoW.exe-1.7.0

Re: World of Warcraft - Repository

- 1.7.0 (4671) -> 1.7.1 (4695)
http://www.cesspit.net/drupal/system/files?file=1.7.0-to-1.7.1.mpq
this MPQ doesn't work ,did anyone try to update with this MPQ file ?
I got a "DBFilesClient\Spell.dbc" error

Re: World of Warcraft - Repository

That patch works for me. Are you using the english US version of the game? All of the patches above are for US compatible clients. Spell.dbc sounds like a dictionary file.

Re: World of Warcraft - Repository

please help me couse I have a problem what that mean for exemple wow-1.6.1-to-1.7.0-ENUS what mean ENUS??

Re: World of Warcraft - Repository

English United States version of the game

hmm

I see this patch dont work if u are in EU 1.5.0 to 1.5.1 so if somebody know any link plz reply me , this isgreat web but damn i really need that patch :( !

Re: World of Warcraft - Repository

Yes Im having the same problem, I cant get the patch 1.5.0 to 1.5.1 to work properly. The error message is like this:

This patch upgrades World of Warcraft from version 1.5.0.4442 to version 1.5.1.4449.

ERROR: unknown command on line 10 of file patch.cmd in archive wow-patch.mpq

RESULT: Patch failed

Can anyone help me to solve this problem?

Thank You SOOO MUCH!

Ok here's the deal. I have a really bad connection for three reasons; a) I live in Australia, b) I'm on dialup and c) I live out in the Styx. Due to this, downloading patches has allways been a hell of a job for me, so when my compy dies and i can only save certain patches....it seems like doomsday to me. I had NONE of the middle patches and now i do. Thank you so much, you saved me a mountain of work!!!

Re: World of Warcraft - Repository

Is the 1.7.1 mini patch SUPPOSED to be so tiny?

Re: World of Warcraft - Repository

um hi ! plzzzzzz i need 1.7.0 to 1.7.1 enGB means english UK plzz so i dont have to download the hude fat full 1.8

Re: World of Warcraft - Repository

r u putting on the
1.7.0-to-1.7.1 update cause i need it badly, i dont want to download that bloody 256mb 1.8.0 update i only got dial up

Re: World of Warcraft - Repository

The 1.7.0 to 1.7.1 is there already. Just for the American version of the game. I do not have access to the European one. So, or you save your own patches as explained in the note above, or you have to stick with what Blizzard offers.

Re: World of Warcraft - Repository

i downloaded the 1.7.0-1.7.1 patch file and when i do it it says this:
Blizzard BNUpdate v2.109 compiled on May 12 2005
Log created at 8:42 pm on 10/17/2005

ERROR: patch archive 'C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\wow-patch.mpq' missing file 'patch.lst'
The system cannot find the file specified.

RESULT: Patch failed

I would appreciate any help you can give...thank you!

Re: World of Warcraft - Repository

Is that your install path?

Have you downloaded the right file and renamed it properly?

I just downloaded it and opened with the .mpq viewer and I can see the 'patch.lst' file inside it.

Are you using the american client?

EDIT: I just verified all the files and they are perfect. I've updated my copy of the game from the release CD through every single patch hosted here and all worked flawlessly. So the files are definitely not currupt.

Make sure you are applying the right file.

HELP!!!

THis is to

hard i do dont know what do to do so reply this so i can get patch 1.7.0-1.7.1

Re: World of Warcraft - Repository

Dude! You have done an owsome job by creating this site... Friend of mine works for Blizzard (( also GM and Programer for World of Warcraft )) and not even HE would help me with my problem (( I have dial-up [yeah..i need hi-speed], and I need patch 1.4.1 )). So...I think you could be better friend than he...

Regards,
---xagul---

Re: World of Warcraft - Repository

Why dont you guys have 1.8.2 patch? Are you getting it soon? if so how soon?(by the way great site)

Re: World of Warcraft - Repository

...

Because it isn't out yet? Current version is 1.8.1 (4769)

Re: World of Warcraft - Repository

Patch 1.8.2 is out too.

Re: World of Warcraft - Repository

I play on private servers and a particular private server which in my opinion is much better then many others ive played has been updated, trouble is it says its been updated to 1.8.2 and you say theres no such thing which makes perfect sense seeing as i cant download from the game. Lol im trying to get something which isnt there anyways that doesnt change the fact that it says it requires patch 1.8.2 what do you suppose is the next step I should take? (Ive tried logging in with 1.8.1 and it doesnt work)

Re: World of Warcraft - Repository

Play on the regular servers :)

Re: World of Warcraft - Repository

not all the patches need to be renamed

Re: World of Warcraft - Repository

Only the German version has 1.8.2 at the moment.

US doesn't. Sux to be us. :p

Re: World of Warcraft - Repository
